the global econmy

as a consumer I play a big part in global economy. By buying products from different countries we create global economy. there is one basic law of economics 101 "supply and demand." people are willing to pay money for goods that make their live easier. costumers are looking for the lowest price possible. this create so called race to the bottom where the poorest countries produce goods for less money. on American market we can find most of the electronic kitchen appliances or all kinds of toys made in china, by buying them we become a part of global economy.

the Levine's poem "What wok is" describes his experience of finding a job.this poem reminds me about the show on Discovery channel called "Pitchmen" where inventors tried to sell their invention in order to make money. They want to work for them self's and be independent. The hopes of breaking big and selling the invention to general public. This relates to me because i constantly thinking about new intentions or make something better.

Economic class...

I grew up in the country that was on the brink of abolishing communistic system. The biggest thing that I remember how my father in order to buy food especially meat and cold cuts went do the store in the evening 6 or 7 pm and had to stand in line trough the whole night and returned in the morning after 10 am. there was no middle class in the communistic system everybody were payed the same. every thing was divided among the people every body had a special cards on which they could buy meat if you don't have special card they couldn't buy it. After the communistic regime have fallen life in Eastern Europe was easier. More merchandise on the self's in the stores. there was open market for goods from other countries. people were happy and wanted that change. that's my experience

What is status?

Status is your appearance in the world. Status refers to the relative rank that an individual holds this may refer to rights duties and lifestyle in a society based upon honor or prestige. Status has two different types that come along with it achieved and ascribed. The word status refers to social stratification. People with higher status are usually more accomplished than those with lower status. Money and fame contribute to this factors tremendously. Knowing influential and prestigious people gives you high status. Money give you power. Power and money give you status.

My work place

Hi, my name is Slawomir and i work part time in Wizard Electroland electronic store. The store is located in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. I'm a sales associate. I have been working there for three years. Depending on school, sometime i work full time and during the semester part time. In my kind of work I face many different situations. Some times they are funny and some are nerve vrecking. Funny because people have tendency to missprenounce certain words and make up new names for some merchendise. Nerve vrecking expirience is when costumers are not nice and use foul language.
